Accepting New Members

 
The Regional Marketing Committee (RMC) is launching new programming for 2025-2026. If you're not a member, please consider joining today to support our regional efforts in investment attraction and economic development initiatives that will support local efforts to build and grow the eastern Ontario economy.
 
The RMC commissions research and studies, consults with members to determine key employment sector targets compatible with eastern Ontario’s competitive advantages and implements a variety of investment attraction activities and programs, working closely with Invest Ontario and Invest in Canada.

 

We are also members of the Ontario Manufacturers Communities Alliance and the Ontario Food Cluster exponentially expanding our reach for new opportunities around the world.

  
Participation in the RMC allows Active Ontario East members access to the ZoomProspector research and available properties tool and to leverage their economic development budget and expand programming by 10+ times the membership fee, while supporting important regional economic development opportunities.

Government of Canada supports businesses in eastern Ontario

 

News release - February 19, 2025 – Kingston, Ontario 

(Please note this media release was distributed prior to the new federal cabinet announcement on March 14, 2025).

 

Today, the Honourable Ruby Sahota, Minister of Democratic Institutions and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), met with the team from Kingston Economic Development Corporation, to learn about how they are boosting the local economy and fostering new innovation for life sciences companies.

 

To support these efforts, Minister Sahota announced an investment of $3.4 million for Kingston Economic Development Corporation to put in place the supports and critical assets life sciences companies need as they commercialize and scale-up. The organization will offer the Kingston Life Sciences and Helix Funding initiatives, as well as establish a new wet lab space at Providence Care Hospital.

 

Minister Sahota also announced nearly $400,000 for le Centre de services à l’emploi de Prescott-Russell Inc. (CSEPR) in Hawkesbury to expand its services for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region. The project will support up to 150 SMEs to attract and retain newcomer Francophone or bilingual workers to support their business growth.
