Dr. Mike Moffatt is the Senior Director of Policy and Innovation at the Smart Prosperity Institute and an Assistant Professor in the Business, Economics and Public Policy group at Ivey Business School, Western University. Mike’s research at SPI focuses on the intersection of regional economic development, building child-friendly, climate-friendly housing and communities, and clean innovation. In 2017, Mike was the Chief Innovation Fellow for the Government of Canada, advising Deputy Ministers on innovation policy and emerging trends.

JENNIFER BOTTERILL
Jennifer Botterill, three-time Olympic Gold Medallist, will join OEMC on Wednesday, September 11th.
Jennifer Botterill is one of Canada's most successful athletes. A member of the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team for 14 years, she is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, a five-time World Champion, and twice-named MVP of the World Championships.
Jennifer is an NHL analyst appearing on national networks in both Canada and the United States.

As the Director of Economic Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving diversified economic growth and innovation for the City of Peterborough contributing to a robust and dynamic local economy. A visionary and strategic leader, you will lead and champion the build out and launch of the City’s newly established Economic Development Services Division that will operate as an in-house centre of excellence providing first in class programs and services related to attracting new business and investment, supporting business startups and innovation, supporting business retention and expansion, and bolstering local employment through strategic talent attraction.
In this role, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership in the development and execution of progressive economic development strategies, plans, policies, and practices, as well as innovative programs, initiatives, and strategic partnerships that will help build a future-ready modern economy that is prosperous, sustainable, and resilient, and that contributes to improved quality of life for the entire community.
The City of Pembroke is seeking information on how other municipalities handle local regulations for cannabis production companies.
