Ontario East Spring Quarterly Meeting and Networking Event
Update
Ontario East was pleased to host its Quarterly Meeting & Networking Event at the Burleigh Falls Inn in North Kawartha, Peterborough County on Friday May 30.
More than 50 attendees appreciated informative and positive outlook presentations from a variety of partners including the host, our members Peterborough County, along with the City of Peterborough, the Innovation Cluster and government partners Invest Ontario, Invest in Canada and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Skills Development & Training.
Thank you to MPP Dave Smith, Mayor Carolyn Amyotte, Mayor Jeff Leal, Rhonda Keenan, Darryl Julott, Christine Crandell, Khawar Nasim, Shawna Bourne and Christine Theisen for helping make this gathering a success.

Innovation Cluster Launches BuildUP Program for
Skilled Trades Entrepreneurs
PETERBOROUGH, ON – May 20, 2025—Innovation Cluster – Peterborough and the Kawarthas (Innovation Cluster) announced a new program, BuildUP, specifically designed to help skilled trade workers with entrepreneurial zeal to get their businesses started. BuildUP is provided at no cost to accepted participants.
BuildUP’s 8-week cohort program provides journeypersons, upper-year apprentices, and experienced tradespeople with the knowledge, tools, and connections needed to launch and manage their businesses. The Innovation Cluster offers two cohorts of twenty participants in 2025, with the first cohort beginning on June 24, 2025.
An updated version of the Canada-United States Core Factsdocument is now available for organizations undertaking trade and investment-related activities.
