Women’s Entrepreneurship Program – Update
Ontario East and its partners have had an exceptional year with the Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (WEP).
We are happy to announce that we are no longer “almost there”, but we have “arrived”. As of our last reporting on December 31, we not only reached our milestones of assisting women start and grow their businesses, we have exceeded our numbers. All accomplished despite the additional challenges of the pandemic.
March 31, 2022 marks the end of this successful 3-year pilot project. We are appreciative of the Government of Canada’s Women's Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) Ecosystem Fund for providing funding to support the Ontario East Women’s Virtual Entrepreneurship Incubator Pilot Project (known as WEP).
The project's recently published testimonial videos are available at https://offers.ontarioeast.ca/learn-about-wep. Please check them out to see how women within our five partner regions continue to stand strong, building businesses and finding ways to pivot their business model to suit the changing world.
Ontario East's partners will continue to support this important programming through their respective small business enterprise offices in future. Thank you to Julie Savard, our WEP Program Coordinator, who has ensured the project exceeded expectations and was a great support to the team throughout.
