    Ontario East December 8th Quarterly Meeting Update

     

    The Ontario East Economic Development Commission welcomed over 40 people to our most recent Quarterly Networking Meeting in Kingston at the Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre at Queen's University.

     

    We heard from Enbridge, Southern Ontario Network of Advanced Manufacturing Innovation, FedDev Ontario, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada with an update on Umicore and a tour of the impressive Canada Royal Milk facility.

     

    Thank you to all of our participants for making the gathering such a great success.

     

    Stay tuned for our next one in early Spring 2024.

      New Ontario East Directors to be Appointed at

      Annual General Meeting

       

      The Ontario East Economic Development Commission is pleased to advise that the following Members will be recommended for appointment to the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 (3:30 pm) at the Ontario Investment & Trade Centre, 250 Yonge Street, 35th Floor, Toronto:

       

      Elizabeth Edwards (Active Member) Economic Development Officer, City of Quinte West,

      Jason Kipfer (Associate Member) Executive Director, Growth & Development, Explorer Solutions

      Cyndy Palleske (Associate Member), Executive Director, Community Futures Eastern Ontario.

       

      The AGM will be held during the EDCO conference and all Members are invited to attend. Registration details will be available early in the New Year.

      Launch Kawartha Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre seeks a dynamic program manager to support exciting new expansion in the Innovation Hub in downtown Lindsay, ON.

       

      Just a year after unofficially opening the new LAUNCH Kawartha Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre on Kent Street in downtown Lindsay, the team is expanding with a dedicated Business Advisor & Program Manager. The LAUNCH Kawartha team is seeking a dynamic professional with a passion for supporting the entrepreneurs of Kawartha Lakes and driving economic development and innovation in our region.

       

      The position will support multiple programming initiatives and events in partnership with the Innovation Cluster and other strategic partners in the innovation space. The position is supported by the Kawartha Lakes Business and Community Development Corporation (KLBCDC), an innovation-focused entrepreneurial and economic development ecosystem organization that provides funding, business advisory and support, incubation, and acceleration services to entrepreneurs.
